Breastfeeding and when to start with solid food?

Lot of literature and paediatricians say that you can start with solid food when your baby is 4 months old. However, the World Health Organisation recommends to breastfeed full 6 months, afterwards start slowly with solid food and continue breastfeeding – ideally first year of your little one.

Therefore, I have decided to start with solid food when our little Canito is at least 6 months old. As well because of the fact that he was born premature and his digestive system needs time to mature. But, he is growing well, we have just started with bottle of formula before he goes to bed and soon… we will start with mashed vegetables for lunch. Carrots, pumpkins, broccoli, courgette and potatoes. Basically, vegetables with low allergy risk. However, milk will be still the most important part of his daily menu. Later on, fruits and meat will follow. But firstly – step by step! I cannot wait to have fun preparing all delicious vegetables and give our little one all new tastes!

We are ready to start! Soon, I will share our daily regime and menu for the little discoverer!
