“Beer – Raped” chicken

“Beer – raped” chicken or so called drunk chicken is nothing new for experienced gourmets and culinary delights. This chicken does not belong to the list of dietary food :-),  but it’s a delicacy that your taste buds will completely succumb to. Therefore, it is not bad to remind it from time to time. Recipes that create the perfect harmony of tastes on your tongue must never be forgotten.

Poultry meat is popular amongst consumers and is about 1/3 of the total meat consumed in the diet. Poultry meat, also known as white meat, is fragile and easily digestible compared to other types of meat, and its good taste properties allow it to be prepared in a variety of ways. Especially chicken, has the lowest energy value compared to other types of meat, and is rich in easily digestible proteins that provide the body with the necessary amino acids. Chicken is rich in vitamins B12, B3 and B6 and minerals – phosphorus, zinc, potassium (important for muscle, especially heart activity), and contains iron that promotes red blood cell production. The mineral content in the muscle is 1 – 1.5%. Poultry meat is therefore an integral part of a modern rational diet and is also often found in athletes’ meals. Thanks to the low fat content (roughly 3.5-5% of weight), poultry meat is also important in terms of healthy nutrition.

What do you need:

1 medium chicken

1 beer

salt and pepper

garlic powder

mustard

paprika powder

cayenne pepper

grounded cumin

oil

Mix all spices together with part of beer and oil in bowl. Afterwards, marinate properly the chicken with prepared mixture. As all marinated meats, it is better if you leave it for a while to set in the fridge (at least for 2 hours). Longer, the better. I usually leave it over night. When the chicken is marinated, take the rest of marinating sauce and poor it into the can with the rest of beer. In the mean time, preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Once this is done, place the can of beer into the chicken, put it into the pan suitable for oven and leave it there for at least 2 hours or until done. You can cover it at the beginning with aluminium foil and after 1 hour remove it and let it open so nice crust can be created.

At the end when ready, you can serve with rice or potatoes or just with vegetables… Simply as you wish and what do you like! 🙂

Pearl to the end: Did you know that the chicken is the closest living relative of the tyranosaurus rex? 😛 🙂

Enjoy your weekend!
