Courgette pizza with smoked ham and garlic

Who does not like pizza? πŸ˜‰ The name pizza is derived from the word picea, which comes from the Naples dialect of Italian. However, Egyptians – the ancestors of today’s pizza have been preparing already something like pizza in the form of simple flat cakes. Nowadays, this Italian food has become a favourite food all over the world. Most of the time you can find a tomato base, however I have tried something different inspired by Wish to Dish. Thank you for inspiration, the recipe is amazing! You can find the original recipe here.

And the other pizza was made for my husband – classical one with tomato base, ham and salami with vegetables on top.

What do you need for pizza dough

3 Β½ cups flour

Β½ tea spoon salt

Β½ tea spoon sugar

2 tbls olive oil

30 g yeast (I used dry one)

Β½ cup milk

Β½ cup warm water

What do you need for courgette pizza topping

3 tbls olive oil

1 tbls mixed herbs (I used mixture of Italian herbs)

4 garlic clovesΒ

1 courgette

3 slices of smoked pork ham

grated lactose free cheese

1 handful of basil

1 handful of baby spinach

pepper

What do you need for vegetable – ham pizza topping

3 tbls ketchup

1 tbls mixed Italian herbs

2 slices of smoked pork ham

4 slices of pepperoni

4 slices of German salami

grated Cheddar cheese

1 handful of baby spinach

1 handful of corn

Firstly, prepare your pizza dough. Mix water and milk together, add yeast, sugar, salt and mix it properly. Put it aside for a while so leaven can arise. In the second bowl put flour. Afterwards, add leaven, oil and salt. Mix it very well and properly so you can get non – sticky dough. Put the pizza dough back into the bowl, cover it, put it in warm place and let it be for 30 minutes. You can put it for example into the preheat oven (40 degrees). In the meantime, you can cut salami with ham, grate the cheese and ribbon the courgette with peeler. When the dough is ready, spread it in the baking tray. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. If the pizza dough is thin, 10 – 12 minute is enough for baking. I need 30 minutes, as my dough was thicker.

First pizza topping: Take a pan with olive oil, add mixed herbs, crushed garlic and courgette pieces and fry it just until garlic starts to smell nicely. When ready, put it on top of pizza dough and brush it equally. Add cut smoked pork ham and baby spinach with basil. At the end, add grated lactose free cheese on top.

Second pizza topping: Mix ketchup with herbs together and brush it on top of the pizza dough. When done, add ham and different types of salami. Afterwards, sprinkle corn and add spinach and at the end, add grated Cheddar cheese on top. Now you can bake both pizzas and enjoy it afterwards!
