Crumble apple cake

Crumbles are mainly used as a “decoration” for cakes. This time, I used it completely for the cake preparation ๐Ÿ™‚ Dough and crumble as topping. It is delicious and quick cake!


What do you need:ย 

300 g self – rising flour

3 tsp baking powder

1 egg

150 g brown sugar

100 g butter

750 g apples (or 4 pieces of bigger apples)


2 tbsp icing sugar

baking paperย 



Start with crumble preparation. Mix flour with with baking powder. Afterwards, add egg, brown sugar and butter. Start with mixing using a spoon, after a while mix everything with hands. Use the half of prepared crumbles for dough preparation. Fill the baking form and press crumbles properly to create a dough. Peel apples, cut them into slices or grate them and put them on top of the crumbled dough and sprinkle with cinnamon. Add the rest of crumbling on top of apple layers and sprinkle with with icing sugar. Put into the preheat oven (180 degrees) and bake approximately 35 minutes ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Yes, we have plain flour and coarse-grained flour, as at is common in Czech Republik. The Hazelnut-Chocolate-Crescents I posted a few days ago are made with coarse-grained flour. It took me some time to finde an appropriate translation ๐Ÿ™‚
