Finally, I have chance to sit down and relax after long day. Our little one could not fall asleep as he had a stomach pain and it just bothered him. So after “lasagne” dinner and struggling moment, time to relax. UK has welcomed warmer weather again and it was actually great time for “agua fresca – fresh water” 🙂 This time – Jamaica. Something very Mexican. Have you ever tried “agua de jamaica“? It is not like the country Jamaica it is actually a unique drink made from dried hibiscus flowers. Delicious!!! You can prepare it from those flowers and very nice way which I tend to follow can be found here or shown step by step here.
Do you have your favourite “sunny” and refreshing drink? 🙂
Have a great evening! ❤

“Aguas Frescas” are the typical Mexican household everyday’s beverages. Usually the drink is prepared using the fruits available according to the season and, sometimes, depending of the family’s economy, the flavor of the drink will rely on the fruit that has the lowest price in the market. 387 more words

I want to say that spring has fully arrived to the UK today, however it looks like more summer than spring 🙂 However, it is so recharging and making me even more happy than the fact of holidays starting tomorrow for me. As I am working in lab (temperature controlled environment) it does not feel that hot, but when I had my lunch outside, sitting on the grass… That was something 😀 Am I easily excited about small things? Definitely yes! I have received as well nice video from our aupair how is little monkey playing in the garden.. Simply nice day and cannot wait to head home and enjoy still bit of time outside with my family 🙂
And… in hot day, I am sharing with you “Orange agua fresca”. I think, orange is my favourite flavour of refreshing drink… I am sure, all of you have a “orange drinks” and this one is typical for my beloved Mexico.
Enjoy sun, my friend! ❤

On my way home today, I felt incredibly thirsty and to be honest, I am drinking decent amount of water daily (as I love my “small” mugs) 🙂 However, I am working in lab and the environment is quite dry and many times dusty… And do you know what crossed my mind? Horchata! Delicious and incredibly refreshing Mexican drink. I had it only in Mexico in restaurants (as common agua fresca) and has never prepared it at home… So when I arrived home, I had a look and found this recipe and will give it a try. And next time, when craving and dreaming about it, I will simply have it!
Have a great evening!

Head back in time to a world without soda and it’ll be much easier to find a refreshing glass of Horchata. Or you can skip the time machine and make your own batch at home. Horchata is one of Mexico’s most common agua frescas and this easy-to-make recipe is perfect if you’re new to this……
